My Oblivion – A song of hate

An alternative version of My Oblivion which I wrote many years ago that ended up a little darker than I intended. I tried to describe how I was feeling during the period in my life when I was struggling to fit into a toxic work environment where there was little empathy, allowance and inclusion for someone trying to manage hearing loss. It was only due to the love and support of my wife and children that I made it through. It is intended as a powerful anthem of defiance, self-worth, and rebirth.

My Oblivion – A song of hate

(Verse 1)
Here I stand again, fists clenched, face to the ground
Same old fight, same old pain, but I won’t be beaten down
You rip my pride, you steal my voice, but I ain’t backing out
Cut the noise, cut the lies—can’t you hear me scream and shout?!

(Pre-Chorus)
I’m drowning deep, no air to breathe—someone save me, please!
Your words are just a broken sound, lost in all the static streams

(Chorus)
It’s all a blur in my oblivion—won’t somebody see?
I hear your voice, but your words don’t mean a thing to me!
Rage and pain collide inside—I’m breaking, I’m burning
I’m losing my mind, slipping further, can’t keep on turning!

(Verse 2)
Silence howls inside my skull, echoes that don’t make sense
Another day, another fight, screaming through the consequence
No one listens, no one cares—just another hollow scene
Tell me why I should believe there’s hope in anything?!

(Pre-Chorus)
Someone get me out of here—I’m done with being ignored
No more chains, no more shame—I won’t take this anymore!

(Chorus)
It’s all a blur in my oblivion—won’t somebody see?
I hear your voice, but your words don’t mean a thing to me!
Rage and pain collide inside—I’m breaking, I’m burning
I’m losing my mind, slipping further, can’t keep on turning!

(Bridge – Instrumental Break, Heavy Guitar Riff)

(Verse 3 – Slow Build, Then Explosive)
Waking up feels worthless when the world just drags me down
But I found my fire, I found my fight—I’m done being your battleground
Five stood by me, five still hear me—through the static, through the storm
And now I rise, I redefine, no more fear—I’ve been reborn!

(Final Chorus – Shouted with Power)
No more blur in my oblivion—I finally see!
Your empty words, your broken chains mean nothing to me!
I am rage, I am fire, I will never break again!
I was lost in my oblivion—now I rise, now I win!

(Outro – Gritty Guitar Fade-Out, Final Growl)

Now I win… now I win…
I was lost in my oblivion—but I will never break again!
