Tinnitus has never really been something that has affected me. I’m pretty sure its been there for quite some time but I’ve never really paid much attention to it and therefore don’t bother with it.
Probably the only time I can honestly say that I have noticed elevated levels of tinnitus was when I woke up from my cochlear implant surgery but even to this day I wonder if I ‘heard’ loud tinnitus because I was expecting to. (One possible side effect of cochlear implant surgery is that tinnitus can manifest in people who have never had it before.)
When I take my Cochlear sound processor and my hearing aid out, I do not hear much at all and I have found that if I dwell on the silence I am more likely to start noticing a ringing sound.
This brings me to a video I came across the other day. Apparentally someone posted a tinnitus cure to Reddit which many are claiming actually works.
Out of curiosity; the other night after I had taken out my sound processor and hearing aid, I tried this so-called tinnitus fix. The small amount of ringing I usually hear when I am aid-less did seem to be less in intensity and dare I say that it might have been possible that I didn’t hear it anymore. Like I said at the beginning of this post however, I’m not really the right person to be talking about remedies because tinnitus has never been a problem for me.
I’ll leave it up to you to decide if there is any merit in this technique. If you decide to give it a try, let me know if you feel it worked.
